I have a 2015 V70 D2 with the 1.6 diesl engine which is producing large amounts of white smoke when the engine is revved and hits the limiter at standstill or when accelerating. Air filter is new so where else should I start to look?

My old world brain would be putting a strong plastic bag with holes in on the exhaust end after the engine got really warm to see if the white smoke was oil vapour or water vapour. As you say its white, I'd supspect water and have a bad feel in the pit of my stomach Cheers Bob |

White smoke usually is due to either;
condensation in the exhaust coolant leak somewhere head gasket failure
