Morrissons here in Northampton is 72.9p a litre, the BP is 75.9p, the shell is 80.9p
My local autogas place is 72.0p but they said as from the 20th it should be going up another 3p, they werent sure how much they will pass on of that yet. They ussually dont raise there price until they've had to buy it in a higher price. This time last year i was paying 59.9p at morrissons to fill up and BP was 63.9p. Still could be worse, saw a petrol pump today where someone had filled up and it was £114 odd quid for 80 litres. |

Delayed reaction here in the west Wales time-warp. It's still rising, just increased to 80p today.

no longer economical
Having run 2 940 classic petrol/gas cars for over twelve years covering over 400000 miles I now run a V70 diesel Estate
when I changed in february the cost of the 940 was aprox £21 - £22 per hundred miles coupled with this the specilast service twice a year it was no longer economical compared to my V70 which returns approx £11 - £12 per hundred - not only that but I can do all the regular servicing myself so saving a few bob there as well It's a pity that the govt dont take the "GREEN" Fuel aspect seriously - it was less than half the price of petrol 2 years ago now it's more than 80% of the price.Strange though that the wholesale price hasn't risen by anything like that I rest my case Pete. Remember a Volvos for life not just for Christmas |

LPG nut bats it back!
Quote:
My LPG-converted V70 2.5 10v auto currently costs around 12p per mile, (£12 per 100 miles). That's equivalent to around 52mpg on petrol or diesel at £1.35 per litre. Currently averaging 28mpg on LPG. Not sure that LPG conversions need anything much in the way of specialist servicing. Mine gets treated to a new LPG filter and software check once every 15,000 miles or so, at a total cost of around £20. Oh that and a new set of plugs every service - £10 from the local motor factor. And LPG is around 75p per litre, whilst petrol and diesel are £1.35 to £1.40 per litre around here, making LPG around 50% of the cost of petrol, not 80%! Best of all, the car still drives like a petrol car! I think LPG is great! Cheers Jack PS: The car has 230,000 miles up, 180,000+ on LPG in my ownership, and runs beautifully! |

LPG Costs
Hi,
Stornoway LPG costs 85.99 a litre. Petrol unleaded £1.45p and Diesel £1.49. The name of the owner (private garage) is Englebrets, originally from Sweden I think but a complete rip off merchant. The arsehole. |
