B17E Cylinder Head
Hi there,
I have recently acquired along with a job lot of P1800 parts a cylinder head stamped B17 and with an E on it. From what I can find on the internet, Volvo made a B17 A engine from '76 to '85 for the 240. Can anyone out there confirm what head I have and to what cars it was fitted. Was it suitable for running on unleaded fuel? Many thanks, Gordon Hunter |

RE: B17E Cylinder Head
Its quite possibly a cylinder head for fuel injected 440/460/480 , since they have B172 engines , what does it look like , is it a x/flow design or do both intake and exhaust ports stay on the same side of the engine .

RE: B17E Cylinder Head
Thanks for your reply Dave,
It looks identical to the b18 head which has both sets of ports on the same side, but this one has cut down valve guides. None of the B18 B20 heads i have have the B17E stamped on the top side however. Thanks, Gordon |
