Default Charger pipes keep splitting

To date I have replaced both the bottom and top charger pipes on my d5 (2013 D5 212hp model. I dint have it remapped, no boost or chip box.

I do drive it hard on occasion but I'd expect it to manage ok. Today my gf was driving normally and the upper charger pipe split, and it's a massive split.

The first time theses went I made tuned mistake of getting three first ones I found and they were rubbish, but these last ones were about 70 each. Is there any reason why you can't have a solid one (clearly in no mechanic) or can anyone suggest a good brand to buy

I’d recommend getting the genuine pipe. I assume you have no engine faults when the car has been driving with the pipe intact?

Nope no engine faults at all. It blew in cirencester, I love in Essex lol, i used a load of super thick gorilla tape on it and made it home error free.

I have never heard of the volvo pipes splitting on such a "new" volvo , the ones soaked in oil are the ones which can burst . Always use Genuine Volvo Parts AND clips ...

You can get some silicone ones which would be an upgrade from Volvo. IIRC the Volvo one is more than £70.

I haven't purchased these but found them after I had purchased genuine Volvo one. https://www.do88.co.uk/index.php?cPa...eb754616480192

Yes, the engine moves on the engine mounts every time you accelerate or in deceleration but the intercooler is 'solidly' mounted to the car chassis so the pipes need to flex.

I will replace the top pipe tomorrow to be able to continue driving, and drive a little less excitable than normal until later in the year. We are buying a home so every penny counts at the moment, but mid year ill look to replace the entire pipe with silicon ones. Girlfriend drives an Audi A4, but she preffers my car, she likes the extra power and heated seats!
