XC60 DAB module replaced but not recognised by CEM
Hi,
My DAB module packed up (confirmed by VIDA) on my 2012 XC60 , and I lost all radio functions. I've replaced it with a second hand unit and now have FM radio, but the DAB only works for a few seconds then goes quiet. After some digging around, VIDA states "After replacing the control module, the control module's unique id number must be programmed in the Central electronic module (CEM). For more information regarding this, see Design and Function, MOST network" For the life of me I can't find how to do this in VIDA. Can anyone help please? Cheers |

Thanks but paying up to £1000 (quoted in another thread) for a dealer to replace a failed DAB module is a little excessive. I can't see what the severe complications would be on an audio module that communicates on its own network - the CEM only needs to confirm the serial number. There has to be a way around this?

Just ask dealer to remove Itp, its theft protection for multimedia, cost 20 plus labour and the unit will work without reload

When you retrofit Dab to v40 that don't have factory instalation, vida is showing in steps to remove Itp and add software for DAB. Even to do reload software on Most you have to remove Itp first otherwise it will fail. Most dealers don't have a clue or not willing to try. Most used units can be reused by reload with exception of CEM.

Module was reloaded and car recognised it was there and all. But; it would still phone to Belgium when trying the on call button, and it could not be paired using the VIN of my car. Other than that it was operating correctly, though, but completely useless for me This ended up with a brand new one. Apparently, VIN is written to the unit when new and is never overwritten no matter how much you reload software. |

look in this document from vida , its asking to download 31382168 (itp remove) and then instal dab app. https://accessories.volvocars.com/en.../V40(13-)/2016. In his case the dab serial nr is not in CEM, that's why the dab is shuting down, after itp remove he can use used dab unit or any used unit on MOST without reload in most cases.

It most certainly is. The GPS antenna actually stopped working because they hadn't removed ITP prior to installing some software. It was reported as faulty by VIDA, then one of the guys at the garage found the technical journal with instructions that specifically mentioned installing ITP off *prior* to installing the software. I think they mentioned that this applies to all units on the MOST network.
