Default Telsa driver fatality

I saw this on the BBC and thought you should see it: Edit: sorry typo title should read Tesla.

Tesla in fatal California crash was on Autopilot - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43604440

Initial report suggests driver did not or could not respond to warnings to re-apply steering when prompted to.

I wonder how many fatal RTAs occurred globally on the same day that were down to driver error - usual sensationalist media rubbish.

Or a simple reporting of the facts to allow us to form an opinion on the current state of development and implementation of these systems?

There’s nothing simple about the reporting of facts.

Never let the facts spoil a good story!

Is it true that at the top of every ladder sold in the US is a mandatory "STOP" sign?

From memory there are almost 100 per day in the USA alone. Yes that's 36000 per year.

Yet how many get that kind of coverage?
Fact reporting in media is a myth - it’s not possible.
Dry facts are only possible as an answer to a specific question. Since media reporting is volunteering information rather than answering specific questions, what they report is a function of the agenda. If you don’t want to be played ask why are you seeing this.

I don’t think this particular one is so much about autonomous driving as it is about Tesla. Specifically I think this is getting so much traction because Zuckerberg is paying musk back for deleting Tesla Facebook page and tweeting about it right in the middle of Facebook crisis. That’s just my take.

If I wanted something about the safety of autonomous driving I would lookup how many journeys per accident are for autopilots vs driver cars, what are the trends and what is severity.
