New in line lpg filter for s40 for sale
I have an in line LPG gas filter repalces part VO9458069 for an s40 1.8 Bi-Fuel LPG may fit other volvos too made by certools rated to 15.5 Bar Max
Its got a 16mm pipe outlet either side and is Directional arrow to face in gas flow direction. Goes between the reducer otherwise known as the vapouriser (underneath the Aitr filter) and the gas distributor (mounted on the mid line of the engine bay firewall behind engine). This is a duplicate spare new one which I dont need and one of these on my S40 bi-fuel corrected rough running , stalling on power, unnecessary gear changes on hills etc . A faulty one will muck up the mixture and it follows that this will effect the lambda sensor and hence also timing so its good to replace it if like me the car was off colour and consumption was a tad high. Any way its new and its £12 incl to anywhere in UK mainland. Sold on condition that the buyer takes full responsibility for safe fitting matching to vehicle and that a competant LPG registered mechanic installs the item safely. Its offered with no warrantee sold as seen and on the basis of buyer accepting responsibility for any consequential loss or injury on installation. Having said that it is a brand new unused spare Kevin kevinhjones@btinternet.com |

Hello Everyone, Obviously I'm new to the forum but felt compelled to reply with my experience after reading this thread.
I have a 2002 S40 Bi-fuel with 68k on the clock. Shortly after buying the car I started to experience a slight misfire/judder when labouring the engine in a higher gear (roundabouts in 3rd etc). Firstly I changed the in line LPG filter (slight improvement) and then later booked it in with a local LPG speacialist, they replaced the plugs and recommended that I should change the coils and leads. Which I did but saw little to no improvement (I'm not having a go at them becuase it was showing a coil fault on the computer) Today I followed tainted's instruction (Cheers pal!) and tipped half a bottle of injector cleaner into the pipe to the lower side of the LPG filter (I put my old lpg filter back on the car whilst going through this process). Then I started the car, let it turn to LPG and left it for 2 1/2 hours. Later I kicked it up, it had a bit of a splutter and now it runs "as sweat as a nut" on LPG, more power than before and no more juddering. I just wanted to say thanks Tainted! |

LPG stuttering
Does anybody have any pictures on how to do this""Hi i also have a 2003 bi fuel 140.000 on clock, iv'e done 70.000 in last two years, when i bought the car it had a missfire, so i disconected gas pipe below the filter,a small hiss is heard as the gas in the pipe is relessed,no problem just dont smoke
Then i poured half a bottle of STP injector cleaner down the pipe, reconected the pipe, started the engine waited for auto switch over, the car would spplutter and stall, then i leave the car for a few hours to let it desolve the oil deposits. Then when i start it i takes a few seconds to clear, then runs like a dream,i do this process when ever it starts to miss or stall,or every 10.000 milles.I have tried diff types of cleaner and found this one to be best! good look" I have no idea where to start but can follow instructions. Thanks in advance |

The LPG shouildnt have much if any influence on the price of the car now , so you buy the car with a bonus .. If it doesnt work or packs up nothing lost . There can be problems with the gas distributor , but you can get it fixed economicaly by a Qualified LPG installer/repairer .
