Default 97 v70 t5

The time has come to sell my V70 T5. I have owned this car for almost 4 years and it has one of the best cars I have owned. However, it is now used only for going to the tip (quickly!) so it’s time for someone else to enjoy it.

The car is solid and reliable but cosmetically it is not really concours. It has masses of service history and MOTs back to 2005. I have receipts for over £2,300 on parts only during my ownership (that does not include the LPG conversion) and it comes with a mass of receipts from previous owners also. It has Dealer history up to 120K.

Cambelt last changed at 175K – documented.

The Good bits
• Volvo factory strut brace
• Lowered 30mm with Eibach Springs
• Koni FSD shocks all around (approx 2 years old)
• Poly bushes on front suspension and Engine Mounting
• Specialist 4 wheel digital alignment (not a Kwik-Fit tracking check!)
• Drilled & Grooved front discs
• Black mesh grille

Economy
It also has great economy. I had the vehicle professionally converted to LPG when I purchased it. You can see it on the company web site here - http://www.go-lpg.co.uk Look for Volvo in Conversion Gallery (yes that is my car). Note: Running on LPG puts the MIL light on but has no adverse effect on running. LPG tank is in spare wheel well and does not impact on load area at all as can be seen in the pictures.

Mechanics
The mileage on the car is 213K. There are no issues with engine or gearbox or other mechanicalcal components. All doors, windows, mirrors etc work fine. AC does NOT work (and I would not insult your intelligence by suggesting it “just needs a re-gas”). The radiator was replaced last year and the driver window switch the year before (new Volvo part). It is due a service now – last done at approx 205K.

• Goodyear NCT tyres all around, with good tread.
• New Bosch battery fitted Nov 2010
• MOT Oct 2012
• Factory fitted removable tow bar and electrics
• Original document pack in Volvo folder
• Heated and electric leather seats in good condition (very small part of stitching coming undone on driver seat).
• One rust spot on tailgate about size of 10p
Car is taxed but NOT INCLUDED – available separately at value if required
(The load area cover is present but not shown in pictures)

The Bad Bits
Cosmetically the car is not the best but it still looks good from most angles.
The Drivers side rear door suffered a major dent when parked outside work. I have pushed it out mainly so it’s not the proverbial sore thumb but it’s not great - see photo. It still opens and closes and locks perfectly.

There are a few other scuffs/scrapes/chips/scratches commensurate with it’s age and mileage and the alloys are a bit scabby.
Mechanically there is a slight oil leak on the Turbo oil return pipe – a new sealing ring is included with the car (genuine Volvo part). I just didn’t get around to replacing it.
The clutch release bearing makes a slight noise on hill starts, but there are no issues with the clutch.
The car will also come with a box of spares some new some used.

Summary
I have tried to be honest with my description but obviously everyone’s view is subjective. I would welcome / recommend you inspect for yourself. I’m sure it will give many more miles of practical, reliable and fun motoring to its new owner.

The sale price is £500 and that’s firm as I’m fairly confident I could strip and sell a few strategic parts from this car and weigh in the rest to get my £500, but that would be a shame.
Any questions feel free to contact me, and thanks for reading this far. There are more pictures available to anyone who is interested here.

The LPG should not put the mill light on. I'd recomend taking the car to another installer as Mr Sparrow does nothave the best reputation with regards set up etc.

The install photos look ok

Default Now sold

I agree that the LPG shouldn't set the MIL light and it was on my list to go back and get it tweaked but it just never got to the top of the list.

Car is now sold to a forum member. Thanks for all the interest and PM's.
