Poly Bushing the Suspension
Hi
Going to get my car booked into the garage this month for fitment of: New Shock Absorbers on the front (Rears are nearly new) New Lowering springs all round Now id like to add poly bushes to the suspension, as my mechanic mate reackons that would improve things even more. Thing is, there is loads of bushes listed here: http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...=2_546_385_386 Im not sure which ones id need! Anyone shed any light on which id need? Cheers

Pretty sure it is these ones from when I did mine.
http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=2304 http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=2305 http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=1162 and if you wish to do your anti roll bar, you need to know what diameter it is. For anyone else looking at this, you need a bench press in order to get the bushes to fit as you can not do it by hand.

I tried a lot and in the end, took them to my local jag dealer when I know the foreman and they have a 10 tonne press. Took a little work cleaning the old bushes out and some pressure but in the end, they popped in.

Guys,
Looking for your input here, i'm looking at replacing the shocks and springs on my 740 Turbo (B230ft). Ideally id like to get the kit which lowers it 40mm however I use the car on a daily basis and there are some big speed bumps at work, more importantly during the summer I use it to tow my wee boat. So I reckon that rules out dropping it 40mm? So what should I go for? I'm also interested in going down the poly-bushing road. Any advice would be great. Thanks |

Dont be concerned, you can use the car normally with -40mm spings.
Bilsiten HD (heavy duty, not Touring class) are the shocks to go for but I believe Konis are a smoother ride but more money.

Thanks for the reply Suterman. Do you have any links to the specific kit required? Also what we talking money wise?
Thanks again! |

http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exe...ategory_id/182 Its the bilstien HD you are after, They have a lifetime guarantee IIRC as long as they are fitted to the car they were ordered for and the car has not changed hands. Make sure you polybush first or your new hardware will be too much for worn out bushes. I got my bushes from Superpro, cost about £180 for the full set plus fitting.
