Default Just Serviced now i have an oil leak

Have just serviced my diesel engine.

I appear to have a drip of oil.

It seems to be coming from around the oil filter, i tightened the oil filter as much as i could by hand so the question is, is it just oil from when i topped up and glugged a bit everywhere as we all do when filling volvos
or is it oil from when i removed the filter that has sat on the topside of pipes and things just making its way to ground?

HELP!!!

try removing the filter, apply some oil to the rubber seal, make sure its clean and not broken, then refit. You dont need to tighten it as hard as you possibly can, just give it a firm twist.

i oiled the gasket. If i remove the filter would i need to drain the oil again?

Could i possibly have it on too tight?

as you can see i thought it was an easy job!! lol

there will always be some oil collecting along the front sump lip of the block as it slopes back so perhaps it is just this ?
