yeah...its a scrapyard, you may have to get the bits out of the cars yourselves

the X40's where on the deck, a green V40 with a matt black bonnet was ontop of a peugeot...if not you may also have to get the car lifted with the forklift :s - costs a few quid extra

theres normally a guy by the gate, tell him that you want volvo driveshafts and ask roughly how much

hopefully that bears the fruits you are looking for -its the scrapyard i usually play around at hehe

I hope you don`t think i am a cretin or something but there is only ONE driveshaft for your model, all the others are variations on a theme.

As you are on the driveshaft section all mods have to be noted so it does look confusing but upon studying then it becomes clear!

As an example Exc means excluding and it`s a 2litre engine so those can be ignored and most are post 2001 so those can be ignored and then it comes down to -1998 which is not you either and then you have 1999 Hey Presto!

Yes i do understand you both but sit down with a beer and just stare at what you are actually reading.

If you are at a scrap yard then that is more tricky, you will have to take measurements of the shafts including thickness and length!!

I believe all the splines are the same but count them before you go for it.

A lot of info in Vadis is not straightforward as the drawings are mostly the same but give different part numbers, so what is the difference??

Don`t forget these part numbers are for repacements and not originals for instance if you see the number on a shaft it will most likely be different.

You must buy year for year and model for model.

I believe the track is wider on the phase 2 so does that mean longer shafts or not, so the meaning of all the other numbers along with other gearboxes?

I think you mean `97 D4192T with an M5D box

Compared with the 2001 B4192T2 with an M56 box

The shafts are different as the diesel one`s do not have the damper on the shafts as the petrol turbo has.

Don`t forget you need the correct end nut and torqued for it`s correct year and shaft!
