Default 98 1.9 Diesel Replaced By A 2001 1.9 ?

I have been lokking for a diesel engine to replace my 1.9 diesel 1998 on a v40. I got hold of an engine from a 2001 v40 which looked great low miles and a more efficent engine once i got it home it looks different!! Has this been done by anyone as i has a diffrent injection system and more wires which I dont know what to do with.

The engine you took out would have been the Renault F8Q engine and the new one is the GDI which i think is Mitsubishi's. I have replace a BMW engine with a later model of Engine and the only way to get it to run was to take the wiring loom from the car you got the engine from. This mean that you will need the ECU as well! The loom may split but you will have to have a look, not a easy job.
