Centre Stack Rattle

I had a buzzy rattle from the centre stack from day one. Returned it to be fixed and found out there is a Volvo tech note on the problem and the dealer fixed it under warranty. No more rattle.

So is there a note on volvos system on all cars or was it just yours (sorry if I sound a bit dim)
It is just I have one which is from there or from the black plastic part of the dash

I take it you mean for the V40 Cross Country D2? I don't know if it's model specific or relates to all models with a centre stack but I have read other forum mention a rattle from the centre stack.

I did mention it was a known issue on the forum to my main dealer and they said it wasn't, but when I took it in to be fixed under warranty they said they found a service note about it. They did a great job with fixing it.

I didn't think to ask what models it applied to.

Roy, by centre stack are you referring to the floating console or the central instruments on the dash?

Floating console. There are no central instruments outside of the Centre console on the dash now. Maybe there used to be? The floating panel with the screen and buttons anyway.

thanks Roy. my buzzing rattle seems to come right from the centre of the analogue speedo - not the centre stack.

Could be a loose wire or component in there.
