Default Amazing car-insurance quotes

Recently received my renewal quotation on the V70 - had expected it to be down a bit this year, but it had gone up £30 to £637 - with 9 years protected no claims!

Thought it was high-time to shop around so I used Moneysupermarket.com and got a series of quotes, of which the best was with my existing company LV.

Finally settled on £304 - now that's less than half what I was previously paying!!

(Maybe next year it will all change, again....)

Yep, that's what you have to do these days - every time you renew. I guess you hadn't done that for a few years?

Not as impressive, but Admiral quoted me £150 less online than their £550 renewal price on the C70, and that after just one year of having the car with them.

Admiral just quoted £2390 for a multi-car policy (4 cars) that we are insuring individually for only £1450 in total and they tried to convince me that their multi-car policy was better value as it was saving me money - duh!

This is one of the very few times it pays to be an old fart like me, and pay £180 to insure my S60.

When I renewed my insurance in September, M&S quoted me about £30 more than last year. I went on confused.com and got a load of quotes, one of which was from M&S for about £70 LESS than I paid last year.

Anyway, I rang them to try and get some sort of discount - I even said to the girl I spoke to that I didn't expect to get the same price as a new customer - she came back with a price that was £20 LESS than the confused.com price!

One phone call, £90 saved and didn't even need to switch insurers - that's what I call a result!!!

Currently I pay £488 for the S60, fully comp with 10 years protected no claims and business use for myself (being self employed) and the wife (district nurse).

Just out of curiosity I ran a quote for same car with same use but at my old address in the Isle of Man, £107. Why oh why did we return to this country.....
