Rear camber
Just had 4 wheel alignment done, front adjusted back to correct, the new wishbones seem to have put it out half a degree or so . The rear toe was a bit off as well so he straightened that out, no worries
Leaves me with one item still in the red, rear right camber -1.04 (left in the green at -0.24) So what can be done.. a) ignore it, it'll be fine or b) try and fix it Would a aged or leaked shock cause this? Was thinking of replacing them .. or a bush or something |

Hi
It could be a bush or week spring, not shock, as rear camber is not adjustable how does it feel now, the front wishbones have not changed the camber , its the large mounting hole in the front struts that is there so you can change the camber, Dave |

yeah I got those put back as they were, fortunately age and road grime highlighted an obvious circle where the bracket should line up, ok they're not perfect (0.2 / 0.03) but within the 'green' limits
just ordered new shocks anyway on the basis that I was going to do them anyway, the rear is a bit saggy, and I really didn't want to do the springs because they're a royal pain in the arse after that actually I'm thinking of taking it in somewhere else to double check it on a different machine before I get too worried but if the answer is still the same.. care to wager which of the various bushes should be replaced (on both sides, I assume) Last edited by stuart bowes; Aug 18th, 2021 at 19:01. |

lf it is sagging at the back i would say it is the springs,
with the bushes it would be one on the arm that holds the wheel to the subframe, get a large prybar and have a go, but 1.04 is not that bad, Dave |

I've rebuilt rear suspension on three Ph2 V70s. The two bushes that have always been the worst are the trailing arm arm bush (would not impact on camber) and the upper wishbone front bush (could impact on camber).
It's a big job to do the upper wishbone bushes. Need to drop the entire subframe and dismantle a lot of it. Comprehensive tool kit, working space and decent lifting capability is a must. As an example, here's the 2 upper wishbone front bushes from the last one I did.

oh blimey hopefully that's not the trouble with mine then.. I'll know more when I replace the shocks and use the opportunity to have a good prod around with my crowbar
I did have a look at 2nd hand subframes and was thinking about getting one cheap and taking a bit of time over building a replacement one with second hand parts and new bushes, then just replacing the whole thing in one hit at some point down the line.. but it's a lot of agro for 1 degree, probably easier/cheaper just to keep an eye on the tyre and replace it maybe a year earlier than the rest car drives absolutely fine far as I can tell |

Ah yes I did wonder. that makes more sense re having to drop the subframe
presumably any of those 3 bushes could cause the problem? |
