S80: General - S80 Towbar

Hi,

We are thinking of returning to caravanning after over 10 years, can anyone give useful advice on S80 towbars and prices?

My car is a 2008 model S80 D5 SE Geartronic with reversing sensors. It has been suggested that a removable type would be better owing to the sensors?

Can anyone recommend a towbar fitting company in Cheshire/Staffordshire, or any mobile ones.

Any advice will be appreciated.

The rear sensors won't pick up the tow bar as such (well mine don't) but unless you fit the proper Volvo tow bar electrics the "Park Assist" will go off every time you go into reverse with the caravan attached but I guess you have a button to switch the PA off.

I have a detachable tow bar but tend to leave it in place as it deters people from parking too close to my rear end......

Sorry can't recommend anyone in your area but if you go to the Caravan Club "Expert Advice" website you may get some more advice.
