Ahh, wait a minute, , , now you mention it my S60 (not a bendy estate) does this very thing on the odd occasion. Add it to the common 'Volvo' things. It does sound like the windscreen has cracked when it does it. Again, I'll leave it for now cos its not broke. (I think)

Ifs it on full lock, it could be the bumpstops cracking, bit of greese on them and its sorted. If its more of a click than a crack, its the CV joints.

Sorry, missed the word DASHBOARD lol

On a side note, the top strut mounts give cracking / squeaking noses and it sounds like the bottom corner of the windscreen?
