I managed to discharge the battery today while my teenage grandson waited in the car as I had left them to go an errand.
When the car was re-started by breakdown service the alarm sounded then stopped again. Now the car will not lock using the fob. What next, do you think? |

Check fuse, DOH! Thanks Wilbydoughboy.
So, to the handbook and figure out which fuse. It wasn't the central locking because I could lock the car from inside with the door switch. Then I found one for the key switch sender, #14 in fusebox B under the glovebox. But the configuration of the fuses wasn't the same as pictured in the handbook. So I pulled all the 5 amp fuses in there. None were blown. Checked if the fob worked again. Hey presto, it works! So problem solved. But this exercise turned up another mystery. For months, the rear nearside door has not been unlocking with the central locking. It unlocks initially, but immediately switches back to locked, as if the switch isn't quite making it. All of a sudden it works properly again! But after six tries, it's back to its old tricks again. ![]() |
