Our C30 D2 SE Lux in flamenco red with styx and cranberry leather interior might be leaving us to be replaced by a V40 D4 (190) R Design.

Current spec is hopefully something like this (it would my father's but of course my mum and myself are having input):

Inscription Electric Silver
17" Ixion
Auto box
Winter Pack
Xenium Pack
Driver Support Pack
R Design Leather Seats

So it will be the new VEA D4. You will definately have to get behind the wheeel and give us a review of the engine. I do wonder what it will be like for noise and smoothness compared to the 5 cylinder diesels!

It is for want of a better word blinding! Very smooth with great torque over a wide range. Noise wise well I don't think you can top the old 5 cylinder warble, the out going 5 pots sounded great when pushed.
The new D4 has to be one of the best in the class at the moment as a complete package.

From what my dad said on a test drive he said it was brisk and smooth even my mum was impressed.

Although it has to be said like the other comments I was hoping for the 5 cylinder growl but hey ho.

Only thing striking me in my mind was one of my former colleagues only 3 weeks or so back who has a V40 for two years about 20-30K on the clock with 150 DTC's (it was a D2 mind).

Tyres are cheap for it mind though.

We did not pay 32 i will say that nor did we pay full price for some of those options. It is a pricey car by the time the options are on paint was one area we saved majorly as inscription is usually silly money.

Dad wanted more control i think. He is still a manual man at heart.

Hopefully i can nab the keys to it and give it a detail in december.

Have you checked out the heated windscreen that is part of the winter pack? I absolutely hated it as I could see all the wires in it. You need to be out in the open not in the showroom.

I see no point in not getting the geartronic though, you can always add the paddles on the steering wheel if you think you will want to change gear yourself. Cars have so many gears now you'll be forever changing gear with manual.
