Think my trusty steed is starting to fall apart, it's been sat on the drive for the past couple of months as I had a company car to use. But now I have changed job I'm using it to commute around 25-30 miles per day, it's developed the following faults:

1, cruise control has stopped working, when you press the button on the steering wheel "cruise" comes up on the dash but does not hold any speed.

2, the blower inside was blowing warm air even when it was on cold then it has stopped working completely, checking the fuse by the door it has melted in the slot so can't even pull it out. Looks like a new fuse box.

3, the alarm service light has come on and the siren randomly goes off so had to pull the fuse out.

4, the accelerator peddle has developed a squeak every time you press the peddle which is very annoying.

5, the one of the wheel bearings at the rear is developing a hum at around 30-40 mph.

Don't know what to do as I have had the car for around 5 years and it's been bullet proof but this past month so much has been going wrong.

Plus I haven't even had chance to try and sort out the above faults

1. If it's a manual, it's probably the clutch position sensor. £40 and a 2 minute DIY fix.
3. New alarm battery. £16 One hour DIY fix.
4. Dare I say.....a squirt of WD40? 1 pence.

The clutch position sensor will store a code if it's at fault, so try to get a diagnostic hook up before splashing out.

The removal of the accelerator pedal is a simple job (one spanner difficulty in Haynes if I remember right) so I'd take it off for easier diagnosis.

My biggest concern is the heater as the windows where misting up and had no way of de misting them, had to drive with the windows down.

Can't help you on the heater I'm afraid.
I do know that you can trigger an SRS system fault light if you unplug it with the ignition on, so be careful if you investigate. Better still disconnect the battery first.
I'm sure I've also read on here that the control units aren't just plug and play if you source one from a breaker but hopefully someone will clarify.
It may just be a case of finding one from the same model year.
Electrics are my weakest of weak points, so I can't help with the fuse box thing either. Sorry.

Update:

Just removed the glove box and removed the blower, I tried it on another power source and it's working. So not sure what the issue is, maybe the fuse box is damaged beyond repair??

Also when I checked the back of the fuse box in the door well buy the ignition, there is only one wire going into the damaged fuse slot??
