Default Problems after changing Aux belt/tensioner

Hi All

2009 XC90 D5 161k

Changed my Aux belt (new part Gates) & tensioner/idler (new part INA which is OEM i believe), all was fine

Started engine = all fine

Test drive - around 1 mile in get error message 'Engine system service required' followed by entering Limp mode, around 1/2 mile later, went to pull off the road & the engine died.

Now won't start - Turns over (making an odd noise though)

Anyone come across this or any ideas as to what the problem may be?

I have the garage coming to pick it up tomorrow, but would like to get my head around it as it seems to make no sense!

cheers

An aux/tensioner would not usually cause those symptoms. I can’t see how that would have happened?

Long shot, but aren't there some rubber fuel lines running around that area of the belt? Perhaps something split?

Is it possible the AC compressor, Alternator or PS pump has seized or are close to seizing, hence the "funny noise" and if so this would put too much load on the starter for the engine to turn over fast enough to fire? Have had this happen on a S60 D5 and a Toyota Celica without any warning. Easy to test by taking the belt off.
