The relucter is built into the wheel bearing. Check the sensor and wiring, preferably with VIDA before spending any cash.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for replying, had it plugged in and it confirms abs sensor on that wheel, is it a mare to change it or is it a garage job. Dale. |

The sensor goes through through the wheel arch area to a connector under the rear passenger seat. Remove the circular plate over the fuel tank sender unit first, then unplug the old sensor and plug the new one in. Tie the new sensor to the old sensor and pull the old sensor out through the wheel arch, taking the new one with it. A single screw holds the sensor in place at the wheel hub.
The rear sensors don't get stuck like the front sensors, so once the screw is removed the sensor comes away easily. The trickiest part is removing the two rubber grommets on the sensor wire from the brackets under the wheel arch, especially from the bracket that also holds the brake line. Access isn't great but it's by no means difficult. Just a bit fiddly. Take your time and it's doable for a DIY'er.

its a 3 or 4 hr job I reckon. I've done it 3 times now - last time took me 3 hours. You have to remove all three of the middle seats. I'd be interesred in what your sensor looks like when you remove it. My 3 sensors had been scratched by 'expanding' rust on the drive shaft and you could see the wires at the bottom of the scratches! if yours are scratched/grooved take some pics for us and post please. My local volvo indie offered me 2 prices - one was 2 or 3 hours labour doing it as above and the other was 1 hour where he cut the existing cable near the wheel and done similar with the new sensor and soldered the new sensor to the old cable and shrink wrapped. I ended up doing it myself and doing it properly/the long way.
