Timing belt !!
Hi the timing belt was changed on my 2005 C70 about 2 years and 8000 miles
Today whilst driving slowly the car lost power and on examination the timing belt was not on the top pulleys but did not appear to have snapped the were some strange sounds from which the local garage said it could possibly be the water pump, pulley tensioner or AC compressor this was a few days before My question is is it possible that the water pump seized and caused the belts to jump some teeth ? Do you think this is a catastrophic failure or should I just replace the belt and water pump and hope for the best ??? Last edited by alanmac; Mar 30th, 2024 at 09:07. |

Hi the car is I. Spain and it’s Holy Week so the garage won’t get round to looking at it till next Wednesday it’s a 2.0 litre low pressure turbo I know it’s getting long in the tooth but is converted to LPG so is very cheap to run !
