Whilst on the bus going to see my son yesterday we were overtaken by what looked like an early 240 estate (metal trim around window in tailgate), going south in slow traffic on the A24 north of Worthing. However we stopped again so he got away....... Could even have been a 145.
Then nearer Worthing a green/silver 245 or even 265 was allowed into a side-turning off the same road: all I noted was that it had the typical starburst alloy wheels like a Torslanda. Was it you Graeme or is there another like yours this way?

I met a very good looking 1979 245dl (square headlights) on Nottingham ring road. Waving crazily did not manage to attract the driver's attention, even though we passed within inches of each other. My 245 must be invisible.

I've seen 3 different ones around my area the last couple of weeks.
One was even in my mates garage for an mot. Asked if the owner would consider selling it and was told that he had a few folk asking that while it was in the workshop.
Guess I'll need to keep trying

Sighted in Crewe this afternoon, at about 3:10pm: a very tidy, if not immaculate, G-plate 240GL saloon in pale silver/blue heading along Wistaston Road(?) towards the Hop Pole pub and Victoria Road.

Default Warrington - Red 244

I spotted a red 240GL saloon at J8 ofthe M62 yesterday at about 13:40; it had some of that motorway maintenance chevron tape on the vertical part of the boot lid. Does anyone on here own it?

That'll be me, on my way to work. Daily driver, does 70-80 miles a day round trip from Crewe to Warrington, 5 days a week, 168k on the clock, done 20k in the last 12mths!
Been in the family roughly 20yrs, my father owned it for a long while before he bought a Kia, I saved it from being scrapped. Can't fault the old thing, works bloody hard and keeps coming back for more, in fairness I work quite hard at preventative maintenance keeping her mechanically tip-top. Cosmetically very poor, but I haven't got time to worry about that, most of the laquer has gone so she gets an oily rag every few months! Peeling laquer isn't going to leave me stranded on the M6!

I saw a very nice red estate this morning just coming into Chester on the A41 at Christleton. A Jreg I think with a lady driver. I almost waved but then realised I was driving the works VW!. Dave

Nice to know I wasn't imagining things. What's under the bonnet - B200 or B230?
