Right, Christmas has gone thank goodness, so back to work. For a change, its not raining here, so whats stopping me?
On Monday I removed the door locks from my newly acquired 164, as the previous owner gave me those for his Volvo 145 he scrapped about 20 years ago (!): his 164 was always garaged until he stored it nearly a decade ago, so he never locked it. After I've walked the dog in a mo I'll be swapping the locks on my spares-only 164, which looks far easier than I originally envisaged. I removed the entire door card/window winder and excutchion on my new purchase only to find the locks are only held in by a cross-head screw under a nearby rubber plug, nipping the lock in place. The locks semicircular operating spigot merely engages in the catch assembly within the door - at least, thats what it looks like. Was thinkng of mowing the lawn when thats done..... Paul |

I don't know what's stopping you but lack of stamina is what's stopping me!
Whatever you are taking I want some. I am surprised you have not found a Boxing day classic car meet to attend, after you have done all those other little jobs of course. Newly acquired 164? I am sure we would all be interested to hear more about that. Happy new year to you and Audrey and to everyone else reading this. Jonathan |
