That could mean everything and nothing to be honest, you dont know how old faults are and what those mean for generic reader. Is something wrong with the car at all or you just plugged it in for test?
did you try to reset all codes and those came back immediately? First thing to do with load of codes like that is to dismount CEM & clean connectors/inspect for corrosion or burns & reattach it , then clear out all codes, then test again after a while. 99% cases are simple connection issues, but other 1% is actual CEM problem that will require cloning etc etc so start with simplest.

Yes I have probs, main issue is the not uncommon "anti skid service/brake failure flashing up every 200yds and engine dropping to idle speed only, no throttle response, wipers intermittent turning themselves on, loss of gauges/dials and indicators.
Car was previously trouble free bar just having 2 rear springs fitted for mot. Some days it's fine but yesterday cut out 6 times in half mile, my wife now flatly refuses to drive it as it cut on her on the busy A17 full of hgv's and frightened her to death. I have today spent several hours removing the CEM and meticulously inspecting and cleaning all the contacts which made no difference wotsoever with the car managing a few hundred yards before grinding to a halt once again and again and again.... Sometimes it's dead on the key sometimes it fires back up the warnings disappear, then reappear, just pot luck how far you're gonna get, it's becoming more persistent not necessarily on hot or wet days it's just random not triggered by braking, steering or any driver actions, it just does it, the same anti skid/brake failure warning. We've had a few sensors replaced in the last year or two but these are not the issue My auto elec man has said the SWM is most likely the root problem but I'm loathed to shell out to find I'm back at square one. Previous to this the car was running fine with no issues It's becoming a pain in my wallet and in hindsight I should have brought a Toyota I expect the car will ultimately get scrapped very soon if I can't find a cheap ish resolution. Buy a volvo they said-last you a lifetime My ass. Then I found out it was a Ford. |

yea, indeed, there is a star and small print underneath that expression that clearly states P1 and P3 platforms does not count anymore...
All your issues are pointing out to CEM itself, textbook case of this problem. When cleaning it out and refitting connectors, was there no signs of corrosion/burns/odd discolorations anywhere? I reckon you only looked at external conenction points etc but if you open the case it could reveal PCB circuits damaged or burnt, seen that on various pics before. Or maybe just packed out on itself without external damage, its a fragile electronic afterall. Your only option (that MAY or MAY NOT) solve your problem could be to clone CEM using specialised company and try it then. No idea how much it cost these days but its up to you to decide if its worth it. You never posted year/model/engine so hard to deduct if its cheapo 1.6D that "just drives" or some rare T5/D5 model that you want to keep running for any cost, but its possible CEM clone could fix all your issues orr you will be back in square one...

the HUGE CEM thread on the v50/s40/c30 section has all the info including part numbers and which lines to replace, simple soldering job ,, main dealers Know about this issue , and can sort it a "generic auto electrician" may NOT know of the issue and the fix, but when given the info /parts/which lines certainly can replace them ,its a "simple" soldering job and pin/socket disassembly / reassembly job

Wasnt that just for minor issues like gas pedal fault etc etc (like singular pin problem) that would be only pin/socket related? u reckon that could work in case of waterfall of errors like in OPs case? surely hope u right, maybe I misunderstood the purpose of this kit when reading about it.

Is a 55 plate (06) 2.0d psa derived engine, the most common for these issues I believe.
I've had the CEM out and no sign of anything suspect on the pins no corrosion no odd looking signs of any potential causes, the car has no sunroof so no leaks there. |

Aand if not - dunno what else to say, unless you are willing to try CEM cloning and hoping for it to work, if the car is worth enough for you to fight for? good luck in any case!

that's how i read it from clan's explanations to the "random / no Real cause" issues with cem units in this platform, and recently having had the DIM throw a "engine service urgent" message , for Zero reason when checked With dice/vida while the message is on the dim, stripped and cleaned CEM contacts, Fuse/fuse contacts And all cable ends in all the plugs as well as the relay contacts cem/relay sides,, its those connectors 9 out of 10 times the plating wears thanks to vibration (got to love potholes etc) and the gremlins invade ,,,

In answer to the 'is it worth it" is I honestly don't know.
What's it worth? Prob not much, we paid 3k for it a few years ago with 150k 3 owner fsh, it's now on 188k but still drives a1 and is used a fair bit for towing a caravan, prob the best towcar we've had so it's worth more to us for practical reasons than it is financially,. First 2 yrs was trouble free, then a sensor, camshaft? Then a few months later abs faults but this was a relutor ring, then again a few months later another sensor this time on the fuel system, then the alternator. The bills were starting to add up then a trouble free year plus I fitted new brakes and tyres all round and have just a few weeks ago mot Inc 2 new rear springs , then a week after decides to throw a fit. We need the car, I'm in no position to buy another, can I'll afford dealer rates, there are few options, via process of elimstion its either the abs module, steering wheel module or ECM which are all beyond my limits financially and mechanically, so for now it's sitting on my driveway waiting for its fate. I have removed and cleaned the ecm which was spotless beforehand and looked OK no corrosion or anything of the like, next step is to do same on brake module to see if that makes a difference All the thought of getting the ecm and modules tested and reprogramming etc all sounds very expensive to maybe not cure the issues My wife refuses to drive it as it scared the living crap out of her when it cut out with 44 tons on her tail and nowhere to pull in and no working indicators So I am at the end of my tether with this car Feel free if anyone would like to come fix it or suggest someone that could as I have no indy local to me (pe12) and it won't drive more than half a mile without throwing a wobbler Cheers |
