The C30 did that brilliantly.

C30 audience - Young Men and Women with a decent salary.
S40 audience - Young Men and Women who wanted a premium badge, which wasnt german.
V50 - Rep car.
S60 (old) - Grandad's safe reliable car/ criminal busting T5 police car.
S60 (new) - In R-Design form, a real aggressive 3 series/ A4 alternative.

What the hell are they going to achieve by putting JLS in S60's and XC60s?????

Thats like BMW putting Lee Nelson in a 7 Series for a marketing campaign.
Agreed

I have a feeling they'll still be learning in 1.6 Diseasel Focus' or 1.2 Auto Micras. Very much doubt any driving schools will deviate from the "standard" and tested platforms.

And of course, an 18 y/o girl isn't going to be able to get insurance on a C30/S60/XC60! Maybe in the USA where "Mummy-and-Daddy Banks" will sort something out for a "sweet 16th" !

What car was used in "Twilight" ? I still doubt 17/18 yearolds will be buying cars because their sparkly vampire had one. (Has anyone else noticed he is a 300 year old in the body of a young boy, hanging around with young girls?)

On a later point ... with the targeted market thing. The only C30 owner I know is a 58 year old caretaker, whos usual passenger is his Bulldog! Hardly a "young man".

This is ridiculous. Why are Volvo wasting money on product placement targetting an audience that are not old enough to drive.

Waste of money that could have been spent better elsewhere.

Dad - today we are going car shopping
Daughter - nooooo
Dad - we are going to look at a volvo
Daughter - noooooooooo
Dad - JLS drive one
Daughter - Lets buy a volvo Daddy

This is an audience that is old enough to pester and influence. None of them are old enough to buy tickets to a JLS convert but they seem to sell tickets to their parents (who I am sure would rather spend their money elsewhere).
