Electrics: - Changed headlight bulb and now multiple faults!

Bit of a strange one this. I changed a headlight bulb on my V70. After doing so the engine service message appeared. Cruise control has packed in so I assume this explains the latter.

I also now have a list of misc. faults appeared in Vida that I've not seen before.

Am I imagining that changing a bulb could cause such faults? Maybe I shorted something or a fuse has blown? Or maybe I'm just a donkey :-)

Since you have VIDA and a list of codes I believe you can't go wrong with....
a) Clearing the "service engine soon" message.(assuming it's not a CEL)
b) Writing all the codes down and erasing them
c) Charging the battery out of the car and testing it to make sure it's good.
d) Reinstalling the battery
e) Driving the vehicle and seeing which codes return

yes clear all codes and run to see if anything returns no need to write down. the codes will be stored in the initial state tab only read off the delivery tab for current faults

I was just about to ask about the difference between the initial state tab and the delivery tab.

I did remove all faults and ran through again, only a couple of faults on the delivery tab which I'm aware of but quite a few showing on the initial state tab.

Firstly good result (changing the bulb in less than 2 hours!) a load of fault codes not what you would expect, ild be looking at if anything could have got disturbed or a wire broken internally, while in that area, a crusty earth point thats gone open circuit and affecting multiple sensors. Could also just be that another genuine fault has decided to chime in and has nothing to do with the bulb change,..

Haha, I was going to mention the time taken to swap the bulb! It was the somewhat 'easier' passenger side but still a PITA. Then I had to change the indicator bulb drivers side.....bumper off, make it an easier job lol.

So the initial state tab, is this also current faults? I'll check and erase again.

Yes, I wondered if something was disturbed, wiring etc. seemed a big coincidence.

common code which a lot of p2 cars carry are aqs ddm and pdm you can have these code with no detriment to the cars running cruise control disabled is normally linked to an additional fault for safety reasons
