Default Throttle Body

Afternoon everyone. I’m currently having trouble with my 2007 v70 T5. Had a reduced engine performance message that I read that said either the throttle position sensor or the throttle actuator. I removed the TB and gave it a clean but it’s made no difference.

Ive thought about buying a new TB but I’ve read that electronic TBs may need programming to the car? Has anyone got any tips or advice on this or a sensor to look at that may the cause?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks

How many miles are on your '07?

There are companies to which you post your throttle body. They fix and return it so reprogramming isn't involved.

I'm no expert on this but I have read cases where the positioning sensor on the accelerator goes bad and creates similar symptoms.

Were you able to read specific codes?

I am almost positive you have a bosch throttle body. Those do not have any microprocessor. They are also ubiquitous and easily found.

Cheers for the advice. It’s done done about 180k, I think the code was p2108 TB control module. I’ve messaged a couple of places regards looking at the TB, but also gonna have a look at the sensor as you suggested, check the MAF and double check hoses, although I’m pretty sure they’re alright.

Ah right, so it would a straight swap with a new one if needed?

If it is a Bosch, and on the 2007 models I am almost positive it is, then yes. They have no software to speak of, just plug & play.
