That car is coming along very well indeed - it will be like a new car.
I had not realised it is a left hand drive car - a Swedish import? Alan

Yes, LHD! It’s an Italian import, like me
It is still on Italian registration and Hopefully after Brexit will not be painful to import it. |

I wouldn't have thought Brexit would affect the import of a 40 odd year old car, it is only really about tariffs on new goods. I'm guessing you had some family connection to the car in Italy, and hence the thorough renovation project. I must say, you are making a really good job of the motor car. Well done. Alan PS. I have just skimmed through the project thread - I had noticed it when you started in February, but forgotten (I'm getting old and forget a lot of things) - you have done a first rate job on the car.

Now is probably the best time to check the heater assembly out- while the dash is elsewhere!

Thanks Alan.
I was looking to get one early 245 and really struggled to find one. I have got a bunch of Volvo nuts friends. One of them was looking to get a 245 Turbo. He found it in Turin. The old man who owned it was the owner from new. He was selling as well his (now mine) early 245. Same one owner from new. During the year he also collected an incredible amount of spare parts for his Volvo. Me, my Friend, our Mech (Volvo classic specialist) and 2 other friends we got the full stock including cars for less than 10 grand. My 245 comes with 2 engine, one new spare. 2 manual box. The man collected 2 items of each part of the car. including door, glass, trims. It did worth full restoration. Lockie, what are you suggesting to the heater hassembly? it was working before. |

If the heater assembly need replacing this is the best time to do it; it's not so bad on LHD cars but on RHD ones it can be a pain. If it was working then leave it alone.
