I think Ford can be thanked for some of the cut corners, as they were involved in this era of Volvo. I do agree, better fasteners should have been used. Even some simple metal levered clips like Honda's have would be good. Just undo the clips on either side of the housing and pop the lid off. That would be better than screws in my opinion, but hey, it is what it is I guess.
I know there’s a lot of despair over Ford but it’s not all bad, the P3 handles beautifully for a big bus. I think the screws weren’t necessarily a Ford thing because they use spring clips on Mondeos and the like. I blame the screws on Sweden’s love of IKEA self-assembly furniture.

To an extent they handle well, but they were no match for their competitors at the time. So for example, the V70 was comparable to a Mercedes E Class estate or BMW 5 series estate. The latter offered better handling and were more comfortable than the V70 (apart from the sports models). The S80 was a rival to the E Class saloon and BMW 5 series. The E Class is miles ahead, as was the BMW.

Yes Ford wasn't all bad, as the V70 and the like are still nice to drive and comfortable cruisers. If you can swallow the running costs of a Merc or a BMW though, the Volvo falls behind in many aspects. I'm still a Volvo fan, but I know deep down its no Merc or BMW.

Does anybody have an OEM number for the boost pressure sensor? Either for a D5 or D3?

And also, the actual and projected "boost figures" (when engine's running obvs) - what kind of values would you be expected to see?

Just asking for a friend! :

Bosch 0 261 230 293 is the sensor. The OEM sensor I think is 294 at the end, same sensor with Volvo printed on it, and over 100% more £

The expected and actual varies by load and revs, theres no set value.
