Unhappy AWD disabled and looking for extra advice

Hi all,

looking for some advice for my the AWD disabled on my 2013 Volvo XC60 R design. It was has been on for over a year now and the local Volvo approved mechanic is stumped too so wonder if anyone has any pearls of wisdom for me?

Initially, I had the filter cleaned and oil changed etc. This was a short term fix and after a number of weeks the service message reappeared. I continued to drive the car and then a few months later had the pump changed. However, next day the AWD disabled message reappeared. Took it back to the mechanic who thought it was a faulty pump so replaced the pump. Next day, same issue, AWD disabled came back on. He was stumped as not happened before. Suggested it had to be an issue with the Diff so sent this off to be reprogrammed. This didn't fix the issue. The mechanic is stumped and I do not have a clue. I have obviously spent money on trying to resolve this and as the winter is coming up really want to have the AWD working as the traction is rubbish without it.

The mechanic is the volvo approved guy in my area and has all the same diagnostic software. The nearest volvo dealership is in the next city, but I am not sure if it is worth going to them - and not sure I could afford their labour fees either

Would appreciate any advice or suggestions as I am stuck and having the fault is really irking me, but don't want to keep throwing money at it without a guarantee of resolving the issue.

Thanks in advance!!

read the tcm with vida to see if any faults are logged and then clear them its possible the diagnostics they are using are not compatible with volvo.
