Reversing camera kit XC60 2009 - 2013
This is the complete kit needed to add a reversing camera to a 2009 - 2013 XC60.
The unit is plug-and-play; no specialist electronic knowledge is needed. The actual brains of the unit just plug into the DVD reader in the boot using the supplied harness (15v min job). You need to tap 12v for the reversing light on that side, which is a bit fiddly but not impossible. The camera needs to be fitted in the rear hatch near the number plate, the only fiddly issue is running the cable from the camera to unit. Once connected, you have a reversing camera system. The control unit and harness are used but in excellent condition; the camera is brand new and unused. I paid over 300 quid for this system, the new camera alone was 70 quid. 110 quid on this forum. One issue the item is in Germany (free postage) however the buyers is responsible for any import charges if there are any.

More data as my brain remembers -
The brains or control unit plugs into the back of the sat nav DVD unit in the boot. A custom harness is supplied, and this bit can be done in minutes. Power for this control unit is tapped off the 12v supply to the sat nav DVD. It's an easy job, maybe 10 minutes. You need to mount the reversing camera in the rear hatch. The camera's power supply comes from the reversing light, and for the video output, a phono lead just plugs into this control unit. So how does it work? As soon as you engage reverse, the reversing camera comes alive. The video from this camera automatically replaces the map on the front screen. The control unit switches the video feed to the screen from a sat nav to a camera. You can also add a front camera so two cameras are toggled by the switch shown in the photos.
