That is odd, I used the V888 some years ago to trace history of my 1800ES but when I enquired last year for my 144 I was told that the DVLA could no longer divulge personal details of previous owners owing to GDPR regulations. Seems like they may have now relented!

Thanks for the info, I'll try again.

Good info, but probably it'll take them many times longer now they're going to be inundated with V888's all strangely related to Volvos 😀😀

Cheers

I was lucky enough to get the old logbook with the car and managed to trace all the owners even back to the dealership it was sold from, even managed to find a photo of said dealership

The only things I’d like to add are that it can be more difficult these days in the “cell phone era “, to track previous owners down. Also interesting was that with my first car, two of the previous owners wanted first dibs on buying bit back if I ever decided to sell, so that’s something worth considering…

I'd like to try and get some info on a car that I sold in 2003

How did you go about wording your request?

Ideally I'd like to be able to write to the current keeper, it appears to have been SORN since 2008

Thanks

I don't think they will give out details of cars your use to own - only cars you own now as you are the owner ?
