Default Turbo

Well my assumption is that I have blown my turbo whilst at RAF Marham track day.

I just need a little bit of guidance if I may
I imagine oil has got into the oil cooler, inlet manifold and may be in the piston chamber as well. I have not had the heart to go out and check on my very sick baby (sob) but I would imagine I will have to remove the cylinder head if oil has got in there? Would I also have to replace the vpc system?

Default Turbo hoses

I have removed the Samco turbo hoses and there is a coating of oil inside them all, there is also some oil in the ic. I have not taken the plugs out yet so dont know what the piston chamber is like yet, I need to get hold of a spark plug remover! There is a small pool of oil at the butterfly of the throttle body. I think I have been lucky and very little oil has gone into the chamber.

Has any one done a guide how to change a 15g turbo on an 850?

Hi Steve,

I've changed a turbo using the Haynes manual - I posted some of the issues I encountered, here:

Let me know if you need any particular tips and I'll try and remember.

Cheers, Pete
