Default Clunking noise

Any help would be appreciated, for the last 3 weeks I've had a clunking noise coming from my C30 (2010 2.0d) at the front left. It had new wishbones/balljoints and droplinks at the front last year and I've looked at the Springs which seem fine no cracks or breakages and there's no sign of the shock Absorber being at fault. I've read about top mounts being quite common on these but not sure if these failing would cause the the same symptoms I am getting. The clunking noise happens whether I go over a bump or pothole and doesn't matter how slow or fast I'm travelling. It could even happen in slow moving traffic on uneven surfaces. Any ideas?

Nothing like that even crossed my mind, it was strange how it all came about, just driving back from Wales through the hills and after this long left hander came this sharp right hander and after that it has stayed since, but I'll definitely check that out

It never crossed the mind of everyone who tried to diagnose mine either😂.

I just put a run of silicone across the top of the pad , just to see if it made any difference.

It did! Re- shimmed it, problem gone🥳.

Hope yours is sorted soon!

Andrew.
