V70 D5 Lux Geartronic

Hi there,
I’ve just bought a V70 D5 Lux Geartronic and within the space of 2 days driving, noticed a number of DSTC service and Engine System service warnings. The messages are erratic and sometimes clear on a restart. The worrying thing is that I only had 3 or 4 gears at one point as it wouldn’t change down after 40mph. Taken it back to the dealers but the messages didn’t show - they showed me all the errors in the log but can only check/fix the fault if it showing. Am I being fed some crap here? Any advice greatly appreciated..

I thought that historic faults would still show when plugged in until cleared off and didnt have to be showing at the time. Anyone confirm?

They showed me the list of faults but said they couldn't hone in on the problem unless I turned up to the workshop with the car running and the fault displayed! I haven't had another warning since I took it in though. Are the geartronics temperamental in anyway? Mines a 59 plate btw.

Intermittent faults aren't unusual in cars and can be a swine to sort out. As the garage said, if it appears try and get to them asap.
