Smile Where to position a Lifehammer

Had one of those Lifehammers bought for Christmas and i was wondering where best to position it in the XC70. My concern stems from when I fitted one some years back to a to the driver side of the auto tunnel on a Saab 9000 CSE auto and the prongs penetrated some cables that promptly shut down car functions. Fortunately just withdrawing the prongs corrected the problem...lucky, or what?Given that the XC70 resembles a set of computers separated by four wheels I shudder to think what lies under the carpets in the front driver/passenger compartment. If anyone has fitted a Lifehammer in their Gen 3 XC70 I'd be interested to get some details of the precise location, or better still a picture.

One things for sure. No matter how bad something may be, it will have been much much worse and with lots more drama for the spammer

Thanks looks a useful solution. I'll see where I can get one in UK.

front centre of roof behind courtesy light which is where the police and paramedics mount theirs. Dead easy with 2 x discreet tie wraps and job done,

Be careful with velcro mounts they let go in the event of a serious accident. SWMBO rolled our Ford explorer 4x4 the vehicle was on it's drivers side with seatbelt jammed. Lifehammer was screwed to transmission tunnel so was in reach for her to cut the seatbelt and smash the passenger window to climb out. Ever since then I've made sure our life hammers are well secured and within easy reach of the driver even if the vehicle is upside down

Flanai
How are the tie wraps secured, do they need the headlining to be pierced, is so wouldn't you risk tearing the lining if you needed to use the LH. Not an issue if its your car involved but you might need the LH to go to someone else's aid. Any more info would be welcome.
