Default Strange noise

HI, I have had a strange noise coming from around the alternator and power steering pump belt area its worse when cold but once car has been driven for a while it seems to nearly go away,

here is the link to the video i just took here

http://youtu.be/xGbWn1gxcO8

Volvo changed a Aux belt and tensioner for me about 600 miles ago as they said mine was noisy but i never had this noise before.

I am have issues with morning sickness on the power steering steering wheel is hard at start up but if I rev the car it then releases ok no squeeling noises from belts.

Any ideas anyone please

Regards,

Simon

I had a very similar noise recently on my D5 it turned out to be the alternator pulley.

This can be changed as a standalone part but a special tool is required. I had mine done at a specialist for £180.

It could also be the aux belt tensioner as these can cause similar noises.

Dont ignore this for too long as it is not unknown for the aux belt to tangle round the timing belt if it snaps causing the timing belt to break.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Sam
