940 Turbo SE Sports Edition
Time to sell my 940 Sports Edition as I have too many cars and not enough time.
1996 'N' 940 Turbo SE Auto MOT until late April 2012 Taxed until May 2012 145,000 miles (still in daily use) Maroon colour Galaxy wheels (need re-furb) Vredestein Snowtrac 3 winter tyres fitted (only done about 3,000 miles) Cruise control Aircon (not working) Full black leather interior Heated front seats 7-seat conversion Dog guard Boot cover Pioneer stereo with 6 disc changer in boot Door cards have no ripples whatsoever The car has some recent service history and since I bought it a couple of years ago, I have replaced the radiator, changed the oil, oil filter, coolant, gearbox oil, replaced the rear Nivomats with HD springs and dampers. Bad bits: Bodywork is very solid but it has a bash on the rear drivers side door, a dent on the passenger sill (paint not broken), peeling lacquer on the roof, scratches on the bonnet and some rust bubbles coming through on the tailgate. The car needs sections of the exhaust replaced (tailpipe, axle pipe, mid pipe and maybe mid silencer). It needs rear discs and pads and maybe fronts. The aircon doesn't work (no belt), The sunroof doesn't slide open only tilts The passenger door mirror doesn't heat up Power steering has a very slight leak (advisory on last MOT) Slight blow from exhaust at manifold (advisory on last MOT) I only have 1 key and no remote alarm fobs Overall, it has been an utterly reliable, comfortable family car that can return 30mpg on a run if nursed or can really shift if your floor it. I'm looking for offers around £500. Bear in mind the wheels and winter tyres (which cost over £400 alone!) Car is located in Central Scotland. I'll post up some current photos as soon as I get a chance in daylight (Friday) but here are some photos taken last year:

Bump.
Car is still for sale. I also have a set of summer tyres (Barum by Continental) which have very little mileage on them. These can be included for the right price. Make me an offer. I can only say no. :-)

Hi
I'm interested just waiting on outcome of v70 issues see p2 v70 forum, will get in contact in day or too, How does it compare to p2 170? Is it amply powerful? My 740 was a bit underpowered. Yours James

Hi,
The 940 is probably about as quick as my V70 was. Hard to tell though because my V70 was nearly new when I had it and the 940 is over 15 years old and automatic! One thing I would say is that the 940 hasn't had any electrical problems, unlike the V70 which did! I eventually traded it when it developed the infamous ETM fault. Cheers, Kev
