1990 440 GLE - It had a Carburettor, but also electric windows, mirrors and sunroof, and could gather up its skirts for a very unladylike turn of speed.

We enjoyed four faultless years with it before getting a V70 TDi - the family simply outgrew the 440. The V70 (2000 Classic) is now on 144 000 miles, and still going strong!

First one I owned was a 460Li, K plate. First one I recall was a friend of my uncles who came to visit from Liverpool. A brand spanking new 760 turbo intercooler, estate. Dont remember the year. The lovely cream colour they did.

My first Volvo was a 1987 240 DL saloon. Black with grubby tan interior. B230F and AW70 automatic gearbox. It had 260,000 miles on the clock when I part-exchanged it for my current 1990 740 Turbo saloon.
