Can anyone help, I'm looking for a VIDA+DICE for my 2006 V70

Hi all.

I have just done a Transmission Fluid sump and dump on my 2006/56 V70 D5 and from reading other posts I need to Reset the Transmission in order for it to recognise I have changed the fluid.

Can anyone help me with locating a VIDA+DICE from a reputable seller so that I can do the above and also sort a few other issues the car has.

I've just tried to send CheshireD5 a message but the message cant be received due to "cheshired5 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space"

Is there any way that he can be tagged in this post?

i dont think simon is active on the volvo fourms any more. try mathew leavsley he is the only other supplier of tested vida dice set ups that i know of.

I bought a dice unit off eBay from this seller but they don't seem to have them anymore and their website seems to have disappeared: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/svdnsinfo

(the one I got from Cheshire5 died after a year or so)

And then got a VIDA VM from here: https://volvodiag.com/download/ - they charge $5 for the bandwidth but not had any issues with it.

Thanks for the info Simmy. I've just tried to search for Mathew Leavsley but I can't find him on the Forum Members list. Is that definetly his name??

Does anyone know if you can download the VIDA 2014D software rather than buying an entire setup off someone?

Might be a cheaper option?

downloading the software is the easy bit and yes it's freely available (if you're happy to mess about with torrents and not have someone sort it all out for you)

getting the hardware ODB connection unit (Dice or VCX) is the awkward bit

mine is a VCX and it works totally fine, but some reported issues with them being hit and miss? the only thing I've found is it works with VIDA but not Vdash, which isn't a huge drama for me personally

I can't remember which site I used to buy it and this isn't a personal recommedation you understand.. but VCX nano looks like this

setting it up can be a bit of a pig and I tried a few different things before I got it working. firstly get the disc they give you and just throw it straight in the bin. secondly see the link above and follow it **To the letter** and you should be fine. the exception being that the instruction mentions using the disc for VXmanager. don't do that, use the torrents instead

over time every now and then it says license expired, don't panic just load up VXmanager again and get new licence (there is no cost)
