So has anyone removed the engine from a X40?
If so, what's the best way you found? Last time I took an engine and box out, I did it through the top and it was an utter nightmare. I ended up cutting all sorts of stuff because it was a breaker car and I was being lazy. But since I'm now thinking about tackling an engine and box change on my T4 I was wondering whether its easier to go through the top or remove the subframe and drop the lot through the bottom. |

Never done an X40 myself, Antz.
Always found it easier to drop the subframe on P80 stuff and 400s though. Suppose you're half way between the two. Lol Always meant to buy myself one of those supporting bars that sit across the inner wings. That would mean you could whip the subframe off first before dropping the engine on it and having to remove it afterward. Never fun.

Last time I did it I disconnected the gearbox and just lifted it out...

Like tommy says undo the gearbox and driveshafts unplug the loom and fuel pipe and lift out,remove bonnet also
