The report reads really well, highlighting the build quality and user friendly controls and interior, BUT it does make me wonder if it is up to Volvo standards in engineering and longevity, will it still be around in twenty five+ years?

At the risk of saying something bad, I'll just say that this isn't my cup of tea at all at all... and that I question Volvo's direction.

Hello
Volvos are still designed to last 20 years just like the 200s, 700s, 850, 900s etc etc. Volvo is NOT adopting the industry standard of vehicle lifetime of 6-8years. Volvo's stance on this has not changed. Of course, any car can be preserved with TLC to last on and on indefinately but the 20 years rule is without the car needing excessive TLC, reundersealing or any major component rebuilds. Industry standard for engines is 120k but hours at a specific rpm and temperature is a more accurate "age" assessment. |
