Turbo Exhaust Manifold Fitting & Washers
Hi all,
Could anyone tell me the fitting order for the exhaust manifold nuts on a B230 Turbo? I'm assuming it's manifold, thick washer, copper nut, then heat shield, then thin washer, then another nut? I didn't pay enough attention when I was removing the manifold, now I'm not sure. Also can anyone advise where to buy the thick manifold washers? Now that I'm putting it back together I can only find 7, seems like I've lost one somewhere. Thanks |

You only need 1 nut at the end. Apart from that sounds about right.
The thick washers space out the heat shields from the manifold, they are also domed in one direction to spread the load wide across the cast iron. Make sure they are right way around. You can't buy the proper domed thick washers, but just use flat ones if you get stuck. Some locations don't need the spacing as there is no shield, ie the very end bolts. |
