As I can't be bothered hacking the old bush to save some of the parts for a poly bush anyone have any comments on these:-
http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=4970 I assume they are NOT oil filled? And... Should I chage the "(lower Arm) Bush Rear" at the same time http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=3283 Last edited by SRPhoto; Nov 8th, 2006 at 22:01. |

They are the standard Volvo "Police" bushing, the oil filled bush is not available anymore.
Have just fitted the Powerflex and done 4-wheel alignement and the car tracks better than new. Powerflex bushes will not transform more rod noise than the standard bush. No need to change the rear bush if it is ok. - Johan |

Did the 'police' bushes help with the handling or have you used the polybusg ones? Have huge problems with the tyre wear on the front wheels, and am trying to find a solution. Volvo say that all bushes etc are fine, but can't explain why there are tyre wear issues after only 12,000 miles for the last 4 services. Thanks, James |

Hi James ...silly question but have had your car 4 wheel lazer aligned yet?
the S60 seems to drop out of alignment very quickly..the new type bushes did make a hell of a big difference to my car...wasnt too keen on the powerflex bushes...so far i have had no issues with car wandering since wheel alignment and new bushes..ad my tyres are lasting i got P6000's on my 16" wheels..

Bristol S60- go to Protyre on Lawrence Hill and get them to have a look. They've got the computerised lazer tracking system. If it goes out of tollerence again then I would agree its the wishbone bushes- I had exactly the same problem on my 855. Protyre will be able to confirm this anyway.

Thanks guys, but the volvo dealer ar esaying that they have put the car on computer 4 wheel alignment and showed me the printout.
Just as an aside, any idea on cost at Protyre for just an alignment check with no changes? Maybe I'll just go there and get them to confirm what Volvo (MRG Chippenham) have told me, will be peace of mind that the tracking has been set up properly, or will lead me to the conclusion that the MRG system isn't configured correctly. They did tell me that the system was calibrated last week, so I would tend to believe their figures unless told otherwise... S50 - MBS did you use the non powerflex bushes - i.e. the solid OEM bushes? Thanks again, James |

Hi James...yes i used the standard bushes from maindealers..i did order bushes from Eurocar parts but they didnt turn up so ended up buying the dealers stuff..also Volvo maindealers allegedly tracked my car too and charged me nearly £70 and still the car was pulling they failed to notice the bush was shredded and leaking...when car went on Tc's ramp it was so blatently obvious the bush is knackered..at a later stage i found the rear wheels go out of alignment and can make the car pull too...£35 later i got a brand new feel to car..
