Result (I hope)......
First tank full of fuel after changing the temp sensor - 400 miles, made up of 250 miles of journeys less than 15 miles and a 150 mile round trip, has resulted in a calculated consumption of 33.7 mpg. I hope that I can repeat this as I've only managed over 33 mpg once in the last 12 months and that was a long motorway trip. Recently the average has been about 28/29 mpg at best so it looks like I'll get the £32 I paid for the sensor back quickly. I've also noticed a slightly sulphurous smell so the cat might be clearing itself out? Hope so because it's having a service/MOT in a week or so...
It looks like I could see 40 mpg on a very long trip - I've got to go to the north east a couple of times in the near future so fingers crossed. The car definately feels better to drive and seems to be improving each time. I'll have to plug the laptop in again to look at the sensor readings....
