My 2011 D3 has just passed the 150,000 marking is still running beautifully. I have now replaced just about the entirety of the suspension and can see no reason why it shouldn't do 250,000+ miles. It's far cheaper to keep it going (with me doing the majority of the work) than to replace it. And it's such a great car to travel in...

There’s no doubt that they are a good load lugging motorway miles car. It’s been a workhorse it’s whole time with us. Carries a lot.
The dogs love it.

I bought our XC70 as a grandchild transport based on its astoundingly good safety record. It is also capacious, comfortable and quite fast. The clincher on the spec is the built in booster seats which are pure genius. It also has a lot of "toys" as standard and the previous first owners opted for the sunroof which fascinates the children! There may be other cars which drive and carry as well but the YouTube video of an XC70 hitting a 40' artic head on and the driver climbing out and walking away is pure Volvo and why our grandchildren ride in it.

I find it too good really, after 20 years with a Landrover Defender, and 20 years before that with a 70’s VW camper, it lacks any emotion, any feedback, it’s like sitting in Eurostar, you (I) tend to want to switch off, as other than steer, there is little driver input. It is a fantastic car, and being 2016 Euro 6 with around 72k , I doubt I’ll have any problems getting grid of it, but after 18 months, I still haven’t grown to it. I’ve never had a luxury car, and I know why. Mrs loves it, and scolds me when I keep looking at Defenders, oh dear!
