Question 2006 XC90 rear wiper motor

My rear wiper makes a humming and will not move unless I nudge it and it will go through on cycle and go back to the 9 o-clock position and hum again. Is there a way to fix this outside of buying a whole new motor as the motor seems strong?

I'm not savvy with the inside workings of the rear motor, but if you are technically able enough, remove the thing, open it up and check the contacts for the parking mechanism etc to see if the problem can be identified.

First thing I fixed when I bought my 05 plate!
Simple enough to remove. I think there's a guide on here somewhere.
The grease in mine had become emulsified. It appears that the slightest restriction will mean the anti-burnout circuit kicks in to protect the motor. The motor activates but doesn't engage the wiper. I think it's to do with not overloading it when wiper is frozen to the glass?

Basically, remove wiper arm, remove interior tailgate trim, unbolt and withdraw wiper motor, take cover off, clean out what will most likely be a load of gunk, but some sprayable white grease (like the stuff used for plastic gears) and spray the cleaned internals liberally. Put back together and you're done.

Mines been perfect for four months.
