Default XC90 19" wheel options

I have posted this in the "Wanted" section but thought here would be good too.

My bro-in-law is after a single 19in alloy wheel for his XC90 V8 (2007MY), it’s a19in "Vulcanis" (?) one. Was that a standard option - or has a previous owner changed them ?

I think he just wants it as spare, as the V8 doesnt carry one in the usual place due to its double exhaust! He is planning to put it in a bag in the luggage compartment - thinks there is plenty of space :-)

That said... are there any other "space saver" wheel options you can recommend for this beast, as an alternative for "get me home" duties?

Thanks for any input

The Vulcanis came in 2 finishes, and were indeed available on the V8.

Standard silvery-grey, and as a no cost option a darker grey with diamond cut highlights.

That said, if he is after it as a spare only the finish isn't important.

He'll also need a jack and wheel brace.

Thanks.... good point!

Do you know of any cheaper "get me home" options?

Std XC90 space saver, check which tyre you need as the rolling circumference should be a close match for the 19" wheel. Plenty of info on the interweb, www.wheel-size.com has useful calculators.

Thanks for th input.

Done a bit of Googling and eBay... not many 19" space saver options out there - are mostly 18/17" ones - presumably the bigger ones are for the 4.4L V8 model.. So I am guessing that only a 19' one will do the job - is that correct.

And... the only new 19" one I can see on eBay is for a XC90 from ->2015.

So not sure if that will "fit" - I guess he can check with the main dealers.

Hi, wheel diameter has not much to do with it ... the space saver tyre makes up the difference in side wall height. Cant remember the size of the std space saver, sure its 155/85 R18 (but may be wrong) and that should be within 125mm (sorry finger trouble from original post) of the original rolling circumference and is more than adequate for a space saver spare, remembering the speed restrictions that are on that type of setup.

Maybe someone that still has their tank can confirm the spare tyre size.

The XC90 has a unique centre bore size, at least among Volvos, 67.1mm.

The XC60 of the same year, for example, has a 63.4mm crentre bore.

The wheel in that link suggests it would fit multiple models. However, with the difference in centre bore sizes it seems highly unlikely it would be suitable for an XC90 as well, at least without messing about with hubcentric spacers.

You need one that is specific to the XC90.

Hi, I have a 2008 V8 with 19' wheels. Please find below pictures of the spare space saver wheel, hope this helps.

Thanks Ian... yes I have found a couple of old threads where the posts are saying the same as yours... that it is 155/65 R18.

But the bore size thing that Familyman90 has posted - has thrown me. In that it implies that if the ones on eBay with that size have come off a different model, then they wont fit (easily).

Hoping someone else can confirm and clarify that. What exactly is the "bore size" - I assume it is the diameter of the centre hole that goes onto the Hub. If so he could just ask the sellers' to measure it before buying.

Does that sound correct to everyone ?
